Take Control of Your Business
Our experts will challenge you to think outside-the-box and understand your business through
new perspectives in order to find innovative ways to create value. You will refine your business
idea to an actionable set of objectives that clearly defines your business model, how you intend
to win market share, attract customers, and create an MVP (Minimal Viable Product).
Launch Your Business in 8 Weeks
Weekly assignments provide hands-on experiences and aids in the development of your
business plan. By the end of your time in The Founder's Lab, you will have the knowledge and
know-how to successfully launch your business and keep building momentum. Our experts will
show you how to dive deep and establish a go-to-market strategy that encompasses everything your business needs to account for from technological resources to funding to legal
requirements.
Create a Roadmap for Success and Develop New Skills
Learn new, critical skills each week that make good entrepreneurs great. Each weekly module is
designed to deliver insightful strategies pertaining to 10 topics all businesses must understand
to compete and win over customers. You will develop a plan that is personalized to your
business and establishes a clear roadmap to success and long-term growth with instruction from
our team of experts.
The Finale Prize
At the end of week 6, each founder will participate in The Founder's Lab Pitch Competition! The
winning company will receive the ultimate prize any entrepreneur would love to have when starting
their business.
A business that is ready to launch and generate revenue right away
, $5,000 in advisory services from Solv Advisors, introduction to Solv Advisor’s network of partners and key advisory contacts, a cheque for $1,000 to invest back into your business
The Process
1. Submit Your Application
The first step to joining The Founder’s Lab begins with an application. We are looking for
enthusiastic entrepreneurs who are dedicated to their business and want to accelerate its
development. If there are multiple founders of your company, please submit only one
application and include contact information for only one founder. To qualify and be considered
for a spot in The Founder’s Lab, your business must comply with the following requirements:
- Under $10,000 in revenue to date
- Less than 3 founders
- Willing to dedicate 35 hours per week
2. Qualification and Selection
Once we review your application and deem your business eligible for a spot in our next cohort, we will contact you by phone on November 4th with an offer to join The Founder’s Lab. At this time, we will send you an email with information regarding program details, expectations and payment instructions. The entrance fee of $1,000 must be paid before your spot in our next cohort is confirmed.
3. Start Date
Woohoo! Day one of The Founder’s Lab will begin on Monday, November 9th at 10am. You will be greeted with a warm welcome from the Solv Advisors team and be introduced to the small business experts that will be instructing you over the next 6 weeks. You will be expected to be in The Founder’s Lab from 10am to 4pm each day, Monday – Friday, and arrive ready to work with
a good attitude!
4. Ideation to Monetization
During your time in The Founder’s Lab, you will develop the core functions of your business and create a blueprint that will have you ready to launch and generate real revenue by the end of week 6. Each week, our experts will introduce new, hand-picked modules that progressively build on each other ensuring you understand and control every aspect of your business.
Business Model Canvas, Impact/Sustainability, Product/Market Fit & Customer Discovery, Markets and Getting to Them, Product/Technology Validation, Finances and Funding, Legal, Management Team, Executive Summary, and the Investor Pitch
5. Pitch Day
It’s the day everyone has been working so hard to get to. Over the last 6 weeks you will have learned what it takes to build your business from the ground up and it’s time to share your success with the world, starting with our team of senior advisors. Each founder(s) will pitch their ready-to-launch business as if it were a real investment presentation by speaking about their development over the past 6 weeks, the progress they have made, and what they expect to unfold in the near and distant future.a good attitude!
6. Prizes
To the victor go the spoils! The winner of the best pitch competition will go home with a prize pack valued at $6000 that also includes invaluable resources to help jump-start your business.
